FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Costs and settlement

What ongoing costs are there?

Just one: our 20 percent service fee, calculated on the rental revenue after payment processing fees are deducted. Nothing else. We explicitly do not charge: software fees, platform fees, licence fees, cloud or hosting fees, SIM or data costs, support or maintenance flat fees, payout fees, currency fees, activation or onboarding fees, or fees for software updates. There are no minimum revenues and no cost for a station that is temporarily not in use.

Is the purchase price complete?

Yes. The station price includes the station with eight charging slots, eight power banks, the built-in contactless card terminal, power supply and cables, the SIM card, setup in the system with a briefing, and shipping. There is no setup, activation or provisioning fee.

How high are the payment processing fees?

Between 2 and 4 percent depending on the payment method. Contactless card payment is at the lower end, wallet payments at the upper end. The fee is deducted from gross revenue before the split, so it applies proportionally to both sides.

How and when am I paid out?

Monthly, in euros, to your account in your own country. You receive a statement listing every single rental with time, duration and fee, as a file. There are no minimum amounts, no reserves and no payout holds.

Can I set the rental price and deposit myself?

Yes. Rental price, billing interval, daily cap, maximum rental duration and deposit amount are all set by you and can be changed at any time.

Who covers a power bank that is not returned?

The deposit is retained and goes to you. You obtain a replacement power bank from us at cost price, and the difference stays with you. You make no loss.

Contract and ownership

Who owns the hardware?

Once fully paid, the stations, terminals and power banks become your property. Only the software remains licensed for use.

Is there a minimum term or notice period?

No. The contract runs for as long as you have stations in operation. As soon as you no longer want to run a station, you can cancel. Any outstanding payouts are still settled in full afterwards. The hardware stays with you in any case; there is no obligation to return it.

Can I resell the stations?

Yes. Reselling or transferring to another operator is possible; we then transfer the contract along with it.

What happens if you discontinue the service?

We would give six months' notice and provide the technical documentation you need to switch. To be clear: the stations need a backend for payment processing and unlocking the slots; without software they cannot be run sensibly. That applies to every station on the market. Six months is enough to switch over without your locations sitting idle.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Outside Germany we start from three stations. The reason is not commercial: with one station you measure a single location, not the market. With three you can compare different location types and move the weakest one.

Is there territorial exclusivity?

From ten active stations we agree regional exclusivity for a defined territory. We then grant no further licence there and place no stations of our own. We put this in writing in the contract.

Tax and legal in your country

How is VAT handled?

As a business with a valid VAT identification number, you receive a net invoice under the reverse-charge procedure. Without a valid VAT ID we have to charge German VAT. We settle your remuneration via the credit-note procedure, so you do not have to issue us an invoice.

Can I buy as a sole trader, or do I need a company?

Either works. What matters is that you act commercially. In most countries that requires a business registration or a comparable registration.

Which registrations do I have to file myself?

Registration for electrical equipment, batteries and packaging depends on the law of your country and is your responsibility. You receive from us all the device and manufacturer details you need for it.

Who is the contracting party towards my end customers?

Limitless Charging. We issue the receipts to end customers, handle end-customer support and the data-protection side towards users. End customers reach us directly; it does not go through you.

Delivery and operation

How long does delivery take and what does it cost?

Shipping is included in the price and goes to your address or directly to the location. Delivery usually takes around 4 weeks.

How do customs and import work?

Within the European Union there are no customs duties or import VAT; the delivery is an intra-community supply. Outside the EU, for example to Switzerland, import VAT and possibly customs duties apply, which you bear as the importer. We enclose the documents needed for this.

What do I need at the location?

A normal 230-volt socket. Maximum power draw is 60 watts, much less in standby. A SIM card with data is included at no cost to you; on-site Wi-Fi is not required.

What happens if something breaks?

There is a twelve-month warranty on the station, terminal, batteries and cables. You send the device to us by normal shipping, we cover shipping both ways and replace it. Excluded is damage from improper handling, liquid, vandalism and normal wear.

Can I move the station if the location underperforms?

Yes, at any time and with no extra fees. A temporarily unused station costs you nothing.

What revenue is realistic?

It depends heavily on the location: footfall, dwell time and how visible the station is are what matter. Clubs and shopping centres tend to perform best, gyms less so. We send concrete case examples with real figures on request.

Technology and software

How do customers rent?

Contactless at the terminal with a Visa or Mastercard card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, without registration and without an app. Alternatively by QR code. Renting with a physical card works even when the phone is completely dead. That is exactly what the card terminal is for.

In which language do my end customers see the station?

We provide the interface, rental terms and privacy notices in the local language, at no extra charge.

What do I see in the dashboard?

Revenue, individual rentals, stock per station, the status of stations and power banks, and the monthly statements. The dashboard is web-based, with no installation needed. You change prices there yourself.

Can I build my own network?

Yes. Several stations run under one account. A rental is always assigned to the station where it took place, so the revenue follows the station. If your physical stock stays permanently below the number purchased, we restore it at no cost to you.

Can I operate under my own brand?

The display content, your prices and your locations can be customised. The physical look of the station itself cannot be changed. Nor can the technical layer be customised: the rental system, payment processing, deposit management and backend run on our infrastructure. Our brand is barely visible to your end customers.

Do I get documents in advance?

Yes. A price list, technical data sheet, sample licensing-partner contracts, a sample site-placement agreement and an anonymised sample statement are sent to you with the quote.
